Keep. Things. Simple.

If I were to ask you how happy you are with your Ad campaigns on a scale of 1-10, what would you say?

If it's close to 10, great! Keep doing what you're doing.

But if you feel like you could improve your marketing, let me help you:

Imagine I wanted to sell you a car, and I show you this ad:

… recursively optimized through 4D parametric overlays.

… with adaptive flux-vectoring traction control powered by neural net recalibration.

… let the gyroscopic torque harmonize with your biometric imprint.

Are you gonna buy the car???

Probably not.

You probably wont even read past the second line, and you definitely won't go to the dealership to check it out.

The reason why this ad sucks so bad is because it's wayyyyyy too complex.

I have no idea what flux-vectoring traction control is, and neither does 99% of the population.

A lot of business owners overestimate the business lingo level of their target audience.

As a result, people feel confused.

And they don't like to feel confused …

… so they will likely just click away.

When people see your advertising, or any advertising for that matter, no one is holding a gun to their head and forcing them to read it. (I hope not)

You have a very small margin for error, and if they start to feel lost… swipe, click, next topic.

And there goes your chance.

So try to always be clear and simple in your ads.

Ask yourself: “Would my average customer understand this?"

Once your target audience actually understands what you're saying, you're much more likely to get the result you want.

Whether that is a sale, an email address or a new sign up.

Talk soon,

Rowan
